Chris Bell Joins STEMPAC Advisory Board

Chris Bell has joined the advisory board of StemPAC, a newly launched organization uniting pro-stem cell activists, saying:

Stem cell research isn't just a good idea, it's a moral imperative. Jesus didn't tell us to heal the sick unless politics got in the way. When Jesus healed the lepers and gave the blind their sight, He didn't stop to worry about slippery slopes and potential implications

Washington, DC – StemPAC, the highest trafficked web site in support of stem cell research and a newly launched organization uniting pro-stem cell activists, today welcomed former Congressman Chris Bell of Texas as the latest member of the StemPAC advisory team.

“StemPAC has really helped to turbo charge the grassroots movement for stem cell research, and I look forward to working with them on this critical issue,” said Bell. “Stem cell research isn't just a good idea, it's a moral imperative. Jesus didn't tell us to heal the sick unless politics got in the way. When Jesus healed the lepers and gave the blind their sight, He didn't stop to worry about slippery slopes and potential implications.”

Officially launched in July, 2005, StemPAC is an organization created to fight back against those holding up the promise of stem cell research. In the span of just a few weeks, it has built the highest trafficked web site in support of stem cell research. Recently it launched a TV advertising campaign in New Hampshire, aimed at persuading Senator Bill Frist to support stem cell research – an effort which has now been switched to a “thank you Dr. Frist” campaign, in light of the Senator’s rethinking of his position.

“Congressman Bell has long been a fighter for stem cell research, and StemPAC is extremely happy to have him on board,” said John Hlinko, the founder of StemPAC. “He has been particularly effective in articulating the reasons why Christians and indeed all people of faith should be supportive of stem cell research.”
