Candlelight Vigil for Peace - Houston locations

Inspired by the integrity, honesty, and grief of Cindy Sheehan, Americans coast to coast are joining up with MoveOn.org's Candlelight Vigil for Peace tonight at 7:30pm. There are several Houston locations. Surely you can get to one. MoveOn only asks that you RSVP before showing up.

In the Houston area, you can select from:

Other vigils will be held at:

  • Community of the Servant Savior Church, 11303 Hughes Rd, Houston 77089 (23 sign ups)
  • Timberlane Subdivision - Aldine-Westfield Rd. one mile south of Cypresswood (18 sign ups)
  • Bicentennial Park, 119 Lee Drive, Baytown 77521 (just 2 sign ups so far - Baytown needs your support!)

Remember, every voice counts, every candle in the dark makes the night a little brighter. Cindy needs us, our troops need us, our country needs us to stand up and say peace and respect for human life is the American way.

Democracy For Houston Members are joining the vigil in solidarity with Cindy Sheehan and the other members of the Gold Star Families For Peace.

We want to show Houston what being a PROUD and BRAVE American is really all about!!!

Bring a flag! Bring a candle! Bring your patriotic spirit! Show your peace filled solidarity...

To borrow a phrase from John Lennon: Let's "Give Peace A Chance!"

I lover it...George Bush Park. Everyone get out there!

It's not quite as ironic as you think. George Bush Park is named after GHW Bush, a president who had the wisdom both to only go to war when we have our allies with us and to stay the heck out of military quagmires even when they were with us. I may not have been a fan of his domestic policy wise, but at least when it came to geopolitics he didn't secure a foreign policy team of ideological morons.
