Think Pink - A Pink Slip for Rove, That Is!
Here is an idea whose time has come: a petition demanding a pink slip for Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove. The traitorous outing of a covert CIA agent to smear a political opponent is just one thread in the Rovian spider web ... and what a tangled web of political skulduggery he weaves. Rove's Valerie Plame thread connects to the WMD thread, which connects to the process of "fixing" intelligence to justify war, which connects to the Downing Street Minutes and to the nefarious Office of Special Plans, etc., etc. Thanks to Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, we have an avenue for encouraging the President to pen a pink slip for Karl:
This is the message that the Congresswoman is conveying about Rove:
Send Karl Rove His Pink Slip!
It is time to hold the President accountable. He made a promise to the American people that he'd fire whoever leaked the identity of Valerie Plame, an undercover CIA agent. Now that we know the leaker was, at least in part, Karl Rove; it is time for the President to keep his word.
We are sending along our own pink slips to Karl Rove because the President refuses to do it himself. If the White House ends up knee deep in pink paper, perhaps the President will finally give Mr. Rove the legitimate pink slip he so greatly deserves.
Putting the life of an undercover CIA agent in jeopardy cannot be tolerated. Mr. Rove clearly deserves his pink slip, and we’re going to give it to him.
Everything that Rove does is for political gain, even pushing Bush to start a war, and that is all the more reason to let Bush know that Rove must go:
