"Nuclear option" vote is possible today.
If you haven't called Senators Hutchison and Cornyn yet this week, it is important that you do so today, as the showdown on the filibuster is imminent.
(And while you're on the phone with their staff, you might as well let them know how you feel about John Bolton's nomination to be UN ambassador.)
Kay Bailey Hutchison's office: 202-224-5922
John Cornyn's office: 202-224-2934

Thanks PDiddie! More information on the Nuclear Option can be found at Daily Kos
And more damaging information is being reported today about John Bolton. The New York Times is reporting that Richard Armitage felt the need to vet his speech and testimony.

I'll tell you someone else whose speeches should be vetted: Bush. In his address after having dinner with the Georgian prime minister he said, "I now know what it's like to be fed by a Georgian." Huh?!?! He probably was busy thinking to himself, "If this is Georgia, then what's the state called that's south of South Carolina and north of Jeb's Territory?" It just hurts my head to think he is over there trying to spread his idea of freedom and democracy and making such nonsensical comments. At least when I was in Europe, most people blamed Bush and Rumsfeld for America's wrongdoings, but I am beginning to wonder what other nations think when someone like this gets a second term.
I just can't believe that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee would vote to approve someone like Bolton. He's a lot like DeLay in that more information about his conduct keeps coming out. It's hard to believe that the Republicans on the committee would ignore testimony from such high up State Department officials. Oh, but wait that's their job to ignore the facts and to distort information.
It seems that we need a rule in Congress that would require a two-thirds vote to change procedural rules, like the filibuster, to ensure there is widespread backing for the change. Maybe there is something like that already, and Frist and others are just ignoring it, but what they are doing is just ridiculous.

Tuesday went by without a vote on the 'nuclear option. And we all know that Frist would've called the question if he had the votes to prevail.
Harry Reid called his bluff; did you see his statement yesterday? Frist can't hold the GOP Senators together with a six-vote majority (including a Dick Cheney tie breaker), and he wants to be president?
So Frist has put it off again, thanks in no small part to our keeping the pressure on.
