Bill Moyers Speaks to the National Conference on Media Reform
If you're not familiar with the issues of media consolidation and government control of media, Bill Moyer's speech will bring you up to speed. Even if you are familiar with the issues, there is no better spokesman for the concerns many of us have.
C-Span is running the speech right now, and if you miss it, will be available later at C-Span.org. You can hear the speech on Democracy Now, which is currently airing on KPFT or listen to after the broadcast at democracynow.org
Update: Excerpts from the speech are now available at Common Dreams. The text of the speech is available at http://www.freepress.net/news/8120

"Kenneth Tomlinson has his demanding donors. I’ll take the widow’s mite any day." I'll start believing Moyers, as well as take him up on his offer, when he says he would rather have the $500 than the $400 million from Uncle Sam. See Raging Bill

How did pbswatcher or raging bill or whatever this specimen of Anglo-Saxon scata calls himself/itself get onto this blog? Is this a Repug or somebody who got dropped off the wagon when Amy Goodman was crossing the country unembedding people? If either, I'd like him/it to put up his/its dukes. When you make fun of Bill Moyers in front of me, paisan, you'd better be smiling. And you'd better have your credentials out.

pbswatcher and raging bill are Repug crap. How did they get on a Democratic Party blog? Maybe I don't understand how these things work.
Would someone care to enlighten me? You might want to look at his blog list. It goes on forever. Even Ann Coulter is on it. Talk about Democrats with no class! This guy has so many trashy Repugs on his list that he makes the Beverly Hillbillies look like Martha Stewart before the trial.

Holy crap! That site's a frigging joke! Emily Laetella stopped by PBS World Watch Headquarters? Gimme a break! PBS Watch needs to freshen it up with something more recent, like a couple of "I'm Gumby, dammit!" references... That blog is barely worth ignoring.
