What do you think?
The Onion has a tongue in cheek piece on what some every day people are saying about Tom DeLay, such as
Tom DeLay is an inspiration. His example has given me hope that my ethics violations will go ignored for years, as well
Tom DeLay has inspired me in many ways too. Feel free share with us how he has inspired you. I can't wait to hear your story!
Thanks to Andrea at Burnt Orange Report for alerting us to this.

Tom DeLay inspires me with his sheer tenacity.
Indeed, comparing him to a cockroach is quite an apt analogy.
Have you ever stomped on a big one -- you know, one of the flying ones -- and then lifted your foot and seen that one of his legs was still moving? And then you stomped again, harder, and looked again and one of his antennae twitched a little? And then you stomped a third time, hard enough to hear the crunch, and didn't even look because you KNEW he was dead?
Later on you found out that some of the eggs had gotten on your shoe and you carried them to your neighbor's house and they hatched and breeded more cockroaches. (That's a metaphor for redistricting, in case you were wondering where that was going...)
Seriously, getting rid of Tom DeLay may take awhile.
And hopefully won't require any nuclear weapons, because I understand cockroaches can live through that.

While I agree that Tom DeLay needs to go, the place Democrats probably have the best chance of doing it is at the ballot box this year.
I'd really prefer to see more time devoted to offering competing plans to solve the State's financial crises in response to the Republican drivel we are getting.
Unnoticed on here were Houston Democrats (for the most part) supporting Property Tax Appraisal Caps, which the Democratic Party has admitted is a Non-Partisan issue, and they rightly see those as the key to ending the Repub. majority in the State.
Make a case for a Flat State Income Tax on personal and Business Income, with no loopholes for the wealthy and area businesses, to REPLACE (not in addition to) 3/4th's of the property tax burden and you might be onto something.
Again, Dem's on the National Level have been feversihly trying to reposition themselves as the Party of fiscal responsibility, after enduring years of taunting from Repub's (effectively in the public opinion I might add) as the "tax and spend" party, fiscal responsibility should mean spending restraint as well as increasing taxes.
Basically, give me a reason to vote Democratic again. I'm not inclined to vote for people that spend all of their time bashing one man.
Offer me solutions, not rhetoric.
Just a suggestion from an "evil, middle-class, caucasian suburbanite".
