Houston Democrats

Tom DeLay is a keynote speaker for an NRA banquet during the NRA convention on Saturday, April 16, at 8:00 pm. The Bay Area New Democrats are leading the charge to plan a peaceful protest aimed at DeLay, NOT the NRA (let's keep our eye on the prize, folks!). We want to be sure that we give Mr. Delay the big welcome he deserves. We are expecting a very large crowd, but we need every person there. Bring your family and friends, Democrat or Republican.

We intend to start gathering at 6:00 pm, in place by 6:30, and protest until 8:30 pm or so, then go out afterwards to celebrate.

We will have local media present, and we want our numbers to represent the discontent we know exists, inside and outside District 22. In fact, Channel 11, Channel 2, and Channel 13 have already given us pre-protest press coverage. A reporter from The New York Times will join us at the protest as well.
