Is There An Impending World Oil Shortage?
Talk by Michael Economides to Oil Patch Democrats on April 21April 11, 2005-- Houston, Texas --- Petrochemical industry icon Michael Economides, author of The Color of Oil, will speak on Is There An Impending World Oil Shortage on Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Mykonos Island Restaurant, 2181 Richmond, Houston.
Economides is the guest of Oil Patch Democrats.
Economides is an engineering professor at University of Houston and the Chief Technology Officer of the Texas Energy Center. He was the Samuel R. Noble Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and served as Chief Scientist of the Global Petroleum Research Institute (GPRI). He has written 11 books.
Economides does a wide range of industrial consulting with activities in more than 70 countries. He writes for popular media on energy, energy economics and geopolitical issues and appears regularly as an expert commentator on national and international television programs.
“Every Democrat that works in the oil business thinks she or he is the only one. This talk, and other events sponsored by the Oil Patch Democrats, is designed to show oil patch Democrats that they aren’t alone,” says John Preston, organizer of the group. “We will get to hear a world-renowned authority and enjoy good Greek food.”
