Stop the War Profiteers Bloc as part of the March 19th march and rally at 1pm
Join a moving bloc of visuals, noize and resistance to war profiteering
and corporate occupation in the March 19th march and rally against the war
and occupation.
This Bloc will highlight the role of Halliburton in the occupation of Iraq
and corruption of our democracy.
Bring pots, pans, flags, banners, drums, whistles and our voices to
highlight the role of corporate war profiteers in the occupation of Iraq.
A radical drum corps is forming to lead the Stop the War Profiteers Bloc
and Reclaim the Montrose Commons. We need drummers and music-makers to
join in the rowdy lively fun.
Rally up at Dunlavy Park (Dunlavy and Castle Ct) at 12:30 pm.For more information, email hgac@riseup.net or check out

SING PEACE ~ Vigil for victims of violence - Sponsored by the Progressive Action Alliance
On the 2nd anniversary of the invasion of Iraq join us to honor the U.S. and Iraqi victims of violence with song, reflection and silence. Bring a candle. This is not a protest, it is a faith-based alternative. Protestors are welcome to cool down quietly. All veterans, families of soldiers, conscientious objectors and all religious groups welcome. (bring a candle) Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
And if you're on the west side of town in the morning, join the West Houston Democratic Club for it's monthly meeting featuring Chris Bell who has formed an exploratory committee and is seriously considering a run for governor. The meeting takes place from 10am - 11:30am at the Tracy Gee Community Center - 3599 Westcenter.
Several other events are listed at http://www.hpjc.org/hpjccalendar.asp?date=3-19-2005#calendar
Please feel free to post other events of note in the comments. If you have an event you would like me to include in future posts, please email me - lyn@houstondemocrats.com and submit it to the HCDP calendar at http://hcdp.org/addyourevent.html
